Lucky Lucky Lucky

Living not far from the Somerset Levels I consider myself lucky not to be affected by flooding, unlike many other unfortunate people living in various parts of the country. My latest video of my plots was taken earlier today, after another mornings rainfall. The rain has died away as I type and the wind is picking up yet again.

Just a couple more photographs taken earlier today.

  1. It looks pretty darn squelchy but it could have been a lot worse.

    1. That's true Elaine. Nowhere near as bad as many other people have it. The worst thing is waiting for some drying out. A sunny weekend but raining ALL day again today.

  2. Dreadful. Absolutely dreadful! I have been lucky so far, with no damage to my property so far and no flooding, although we have had strong winds and lots of rain. Not good gardening weather, eh?

    1. Always good to hear of no damage amidst the chaos all around the country. Certainly not gardening weather Mark, looks like a late start outdoors.

  3. Our plot is soggy but nothing like the amount of standing water that you have. Just small patches on some plots where there are dips in the ground.

    1. Only a few miles away from here and some people have water up to the top of their ground floor windows, waiting and watching is the worst thing. Funny thing is the warmness in February.

    2. Strange though - Martyn's weather data shows it has been warmer than usual at night but not during the day. The day and nightime temperatures seem to have come closer together.

    3. Over the past couple of years, mainly late Summer & Autumn I've noticed that as the temperatures drop in the early evening, then later on approximately 9 p.m. ish, there has been a distinctive rise in them, on a regular daily basis. Has Martyn got any records of this? I don't keep weather records, maybe its time to start.
